The local real estate market has made national headlines ... though local punditz may want to apply their own insight, their own spin to the national story.
"Think that no real estate market is safe," Louis Jones asks in this slideshow/report at kiplinger.com "Believe it or not, there are cities where home values have held their own. Their economies are well diversified, and their population growth has been slow, keeping unemployment low and speculative building to a minimum."
And #1 on that list is Midland, Texas. Four other Texas communities make the list, including our neighbor 'just up the road,' Lubbock (#10).
I'd be interested in hearing what YOU have to say about the local market - the good, the bad, the ugly and the beautiful of it all.

Good news, but don't tell my Mother...I'm thinking of buying our old home now that she's moved to Manor Park.
Hmmmm, I don't know ... this might be a good opportunity for your Mom to put away a little something to help get her through her retirement!
:-)
I still can't afford to upgrade to a bigger home. Will I ever? Guess not...
Anonymous, some of our neighbors have moved 'up and out' during the last boom. We opted to stay where we are ... though we have done some improvements.
