A Little More About POTC3 .....

A few days back, I wrote this post about Pirates of the Caribbean III: At Worlds End, which included a comment on the scene where the disparate Pirate Lords hoist their colors, and sail their rag-tag fleet to death and glory against Beckett's armada ..... I wouldn't have minded seeing some of that battle (even if it meant trimming some of the plots-within-plots-within-plots-within-whatever, that took up so much time earlier in the film) as it raged around the one-on-one duel between the Pearl and the Dutchman.

Maybe we still can ..... maybe .....

It occurs to me that, when that duel is over, and when the skies and seas are clear, there are some gaps in the two fleets, and that some of the ships on the horizon are smoking .....

If they ever release an extended version, or director's cut of POTC3 on DVD, I'll have to rent it.

I'm a huge fan of movie soundtracks and I recently bought the score from the first Pirates movie. It has some wonderful battle scene music.

Unfortunately, I like to listen to it at ear splitting decibles while driving my big ol' truck through town. It is all I can do to keep from plowing into the little cars in the next lane so I can sink their "ships". Sigh...

Arrrrr, ye be the Pirate Lord o' Texas, methinks!

On an unrelated note, how about an update on your spouse, the deck, and a NKTB party?

Avast matey, I haven't seen POTC3, but I'd heartily recommend ye haul ye scurvy hide down to the video store and rent "Master & Commander" if ye want to see, hear, and feel some incredible pirate ship battles. Dunno if it's just me, but I found the battle scenes in M&C to be incredibly immersive.

Rob, thanks for stopping in ..... you're absolutely right .... we LOVE that movie, and own a copy of it on DVD ..... the battle scenes ARE exciting, and the funeral scene following the climactic battle with the French raiser is absolutely heart-wrenching.
