Janie, thanks for stopping in. You're absolutely right, it is. I've been through it a couple of times, and I don't expect it ever gets easier.

Thanks to you both, very much. And Jeff thanks to theh link to the Eulogy for Old Drum, which I"d never read before. Wikipedia calls it purple prose, which it surely is, but it also happens to be true.

Karen, I was glad to do it. Yes, it IS purple prose. But when it comes to the loss of a canine friend - and I've lost two over the years - it seems right, somehow.
