The Da Vinci Code ... the Good, the Bad and the Impact ...

Frank has started a good discussion at BOOKS, INQ. with this post about a call for action by some, in response to the upcoming release of the film version of "The Da Vinci Code".

That discussion has already covered additional, related topics - all of interest - regarding the impact of the film, the impact of the book upon which it was based, what might be gained from studying the Bible in school, and what use Christians might make from 'the buzz' surrounding the film.

I strongly suggest
you get involved in this discussion.

I think people need to get a grip - it's FICTION.

But, I must admit it is clever...

And who is to say not entirely out in left field, IMHO.

Welcome, Miss Pattie.

I think you make a good point ... enjoy it for what it is ...

By the way, if you enjoy stories of modern-day intrigue swirling around centuries-old secrets, may I recommend "The Flanders Panel" and "The Club Dumas" by Arturo Perez Reverte ...

Oh dear, my reading list grows ever long...

Welcome, Miss Pattie,

You'll be surprised how quickly they read ... you come to the end of a chapter, and find yourself thinking, "maybe just another page or two ..." !!!

A critic once said, "Think of the Club Dumas as a beach book for intellectuals." It's sophisticated, but fun ... not nearly as burdensome as, say, Umberto Eco.
